  1. i was very curius to hear simon on the next album….it’s a shame……

i’ll miss especially johan langell (wath he did on Remedy Lane is pure magic)….

i wish to Leo all the best…….

  2. yup’. the rhythm section was incredibly talented in TPE, RL and BE…amazing work from Kriss and Langell. Hopefully Léo and “New Bass Player” can play at that level of creativity and groove.

  3. I’m more worried about the new bass player…
    Simon was OK…
Kristoffer was by far the best…

As for the drums… Leo sounds pretty good…
    I think he’ll do a splendid job…
Langell was unbeatable but let’s give Leo a chance!

    Can’t wait for new album

  4. I was curious too to hear Simon on the album…when a member is gone is always bad…I remember when Martin Lopez leaved Opeth and my desperation, clearly replaced by the great Axenrot….and here is the same…a great sadness for Langell, Kristoffer and Simon (if this is out of the band)…but complete faith in the new guys coming in this band…

  5. Simon leaving the band so soon just makes me feel that he had no love for Pain of Salvation, that also being reinforced by his absolute lack of charisma in stage, he seemed to be there playing the bass for pure obligation.

  6. I believe the every PoS fan is waiting for an explanation about what happened with Simon. It’s incredible the instability that the band has with bass players…

Anyway, wish you all the best!!

And please Daniel, Brazilian fans crave for you next show here. You didn’t come on the Scarsick Tour, don’t forget us on the next tour!!

  7. …maybe I didn’t realize that Simon is not with the band anymore…It’s always sad to see such talented musicians go. Needless to say that Christopher and Langell are the cream of the cream and cannot be replaced. Neither as musician nor as a bandmember.
As an outstanding person I don’t have the right to judge over this.
So I call it luck again, that I had the chance to see them live so many times.
The expectations are extremely high and I think it’s not easy to join pos. But I know that a bandmember has to be so much more than an excellent musician. He has to be a friend, a part of the family and of course he has to play an instrument.
Whatever pos will do in the future…I am there…as a fan…as a supporter..

Good luck to all the members that left the band and to all that will join.

  8. I miss Johan, he’s one of my favorite drummers, and Kristoffer, it was the perfect line-up.. I think that Leo will do fine job, he’s very good drummer. The Simon’s departure was a totally damper..

  9. For those who miss Kristoffer, you can find him on myspace and youtube with the new band “DIAL”! Hes even got a few short jamming sessions thats quite joyful to watch:)

  10. it seems to be dangerous to be a PoS-bassplayer…
    —> NEXT ONE PLEASE <—

    Sorry for beeing joking about….
Hope you’ll find another good bassplayer who stay longer than 2 years.

  11. Herr Gildelöw, is the dark concept of bury people anyhow coherent with the way you feel about the guys that left the band? I’m somehow curious, since you “buried” even your brother alongside the others…

I don’t know you guys, but that’s BIG TIME creepy

  12. ^ It’s because he want’s to play it himself, and he’s just using temporary replacements until he finds and perfects a way to play bass and guitar at the same time.

That is a beautiful picture, by the way, as are all the other ones on this site. The work of Ardarve, I presume? :)

  13. “Simon leaving the band so soon just makes me feel that he had no love for Pain of Salvation, that also being reinforced by his absolute lack of charisma in stage, he seemed to be there playing the bass for pure obligation.” (by henrique88t)

No, this is all wrong. Simon has a myspace profile and he explained why he left Pain of Salvation. As I understood about his explanation, he wanted to focus on his compositions. And he hadn’t a lack of love for Pain of Salvation. Even if he left the band from nothing, he have his life and other goals.
He probably want to do some solo work, but I think that isn’t a reason to classify his attitude as a “cool blood bassist”.

  14. unfortunately Herr Gildenlöw wants a full-time bassplayer and i suppose Steve is not going to move to Sweden :( but hearing him as a guestmusician would rock :)

  15. Who will be the next bass player? Sorry Daniel, you are an amazing musician, but I don’t think even you can play guitar and bass! At least outside of the studio…..Any chance for kristoffer rejoining? That would be amazing…

  16. I think I should start practicing really hard the next year and audition:)

But then there is no way I am getting on that level of bass playing anytime soon..

  17. Hey guys, who’s the new drummer? is he as good as Johan? who’s going to be the bass player?

    Great musicians…

  18. Hm, I guess a fulltime bassplayer has a better feeling for the instrument(when to use it in which particular way…) than a guitarplayer [and yes, i included Daniel as well ;) ] ever may get…

  19. The new drummer is named Léo Margarit, and he sucks big time…He’s nothing compaired to Johan, he’s not even able to handle songs like Second Love…I wish Jeff Porcaro was still alive and play in the band…

    • Hahahaha, finally someone with a sense of perspective and humor! :) Actually, I wish Porcaro was alive too, just so I could kick his ass about Toto’s productions and drum sounds!

(Alright, before someone gets all upset and wants to kill me – I am joking, ok?)

  20. Oh come on Léo, you don’t have necessarily to compare with Johan… Even I am not able to handle Second Love, which is a difficult beautiful song… ;D
Just do your best, that would be enough!Cheers!!
P.S.: I’m waiting to see you again in Italy… Last time I wasn’t able to come and see you, next time I’ll be on the first seat :D Long live to Pain of Salvation!!

  21. Haha Everybody is like: Daniel this, and the drummer that, and comparing this bass player with this other one.
GUYS!! Its their website!! They DO read it and they do have feellings so please try to be a little bit more sensitive.

  22. Meh, no one should worry. They make good decisions. I know no matter what they’ll put on a good show. Léo is different which is good. He’s a very well-rounded, musical drummer who is just what this band needs. Simple as that. As far as bass players, there are plenty of bass players that could feasibly play the music. Some people act like Kristoffer is irreplaceable. He was amazing, and I love his style and diversity, but it’s not a matter of skill at this point, but of commitment.

  23. Not wanting to be negative jerk, but with all the changes (important) in personal… Maybe a time to change the name of the band?

    • Why would they change the band name? POS is a band that creates beautiful music that almost everyone can listen to. POS is a band that the players (whoever they may be) put their blood, sweat and tears into. if Daniel wanted to do a different project, he just had the best opportunity to do that. Pain of Salvation isnt a band that shouldnt get replaced because a few member changes.

  24. No new name, Daniel is the genius behind P.O.S……. He will take the band to the next step. He is doing now!
